Well, as for me, I like the feature. At first I thought it was something like the battlegrounds in Beyond Divinity, but I believe is something more in the way of the Tower ind DKS.

Also, I believe this kind of bizarre place is more in touch with Divinity style/lore. Instead of making just a house, castle or whatever form of fort typical from RPGs, they come with some sort of dimension. I hope, though, that they develop this idea better than the mysterious hypnerotomachia from Divinity II -a very interesting place, that would have benefited from a little more context-.
