personnaly I am interesetd in the idea that everything can be use as a weapon. there is generic kind of weapon (swords, axe, shield, wand, staff etc...) and we could put everything in those generic kind like for example, a cat can be use as an hammer....
One of the things that I love about PnP RPG is the freedom I have, as long as the DM is willing (and able :p) to cooperate. A session of exodus comes to mind, where my supermutant character started throwing anything that wasn't nailed to the ground at the enemies, including enemies and random excrements. It was hilarious.
But, with PnP games it's all about your imagination, which is a lot more powerful than a 3D graphics engine. Hitting someone with a rubber chicken can be hilarious in your head, but pathetic and pointless on screen.
Being able to use anything as a weapon can be awesome, but I think it is very hard to do it properly for a digital RPG, and should be approached with a lot of care.
