That may be one of the approaches Larian tries, although there seem to be a huge heaping of Personality stats, and you'd have to figure out what each one affects.

If I increase my Faith, does that help boost my Charm, my Reasoning, or my Intimidation? What does Greed increase? After you do that you'd then have to figure out all the myriad places where you get these points. Is there an even mix, or is one stat represented much more than another?

This might lead to an unfortunate side effect of players not picking the dialogue options they want to pick because they're trying to metagame another stat. Or if could annoy players because their choices individually may make sense, but they raise different [C/I/R] stats so that they'll end up with a smattering of points and they'll have no sense of what their character is actually good at, and each dual dialogue will end up as a random luck.
