I guess they wanted to minimize the number of people emailing them at the given address about the DD and anthology add-ons that didn't actually include an add-on to their pledge. You can only send out one kickstarter survey, so in order to fulfil these add-ons right away, people need to contact Larian so they can manually check the kickstarter pledge and reply with the download instructions.
