Larian Studios Forums Divine Divinity (English) Help/Tips/Tricks Boratus and his missing book

This seems to be a bug.
Try in this order, save first, do not release the snake instead release the wolves and let them kill Boratus for you. Then pick up the key.
I know this answer is not timely but thought another player might find in helpful later.
