This is strange, I'm playing a multiplayer game with the default AI and the game itself has no issues and is playing great. The problem is there's no battles at all. Both my units and the AI units move through each others territory, including the Capital city at will with no penalties whatsoever. Anyone else experience this? I'm using AI players with the default AI set. Anyone have an idea what could be wrong?

You and the AI are all different factions, right? There are four factions: Imperials, Warlords, Zealots, and Hordes. Players with the same faction name are allied.

ohhh, factions, hmm. That may be it, I can't remember right now. But I also read through the manual and there was no mention of the fact that option was there. Thanks for the quick reply.

I'm not saying that was the problem, a few minutes ago I wanted to start a match with another player and we couldn't, and it took an embarrassingly long time to figure out that the reason we couldn't start was that we were both the same faction. Once that was fixed we were able to start, but maybe that doesn't work in AI multiplayer.

You need to have at least 1 opposing faction to start a multi-player game against AI, as well.


By 'your territory' do you mean the countries are the same colour on the map, or the countries are highlighted by the player's colour on the map, so they specifically control that area? If you start off with an elvish country, you still have to move troops to the neutral elvish countries in order to take them over.

If two opposing factions move to the same neutral country, or one faction moves to a country already occupied by another, there should be a battle.
