Same problem.

Played 1 round. Saved the game.
Loaded the game and as soon as i hit the "End Turn" button it says "Waiting for other Commanders" indefinitely. pressing the "Bridge" button does nothing except hearing the sound, while i can still open the menu and "Load" savegames.

edit: also have the gog version.

ive found a possible workaround: go to options->gameplay and set another ai difficulty. then go back to strategy map and use the end turn button again.
btw i had it set to "casual" originally
