We've noticed there's some confusion about the Steam version of the game versus the other versions like the one that'll be distributed through gog.com or the vault.

The short of it is that all versions all equal and all versions are compatible with one another.

Which means what exactly?

I purchased my copy of D.Commander through the vault, directly from the company as there are less things that can be screwed up if the third party is phased out. But if I understand correctly that means Larian Studios did NOT program in a mutiplayer hub OR that I cannot access the 1.040 patch?

Or is there a way to tap Steam metaphorically on the shoulder and inform it, 'Look, I DO have Dragon Commander!"

To which it replies, "By jove, so you do! Jolly good, have we some more options for you!"

And it will smile at me while I smile at it, neither one voicing our own personal thoughts at the others immolation.

So, what is it? Will the 1.040 patch be available to us non-steam purchasers of Dragon Commander? Do we need it? (I've been having a few issues with D.Com due to the duel core problems)

INFORM ME, OH MODERATORS!!
