Hello!

I'd like to request the ability to set your name in game, instead of just using your computer's name as a default with no ability to change it.

I know the Steam one asks for your account name and it's solved, but in the GOG version for example, it's sort of odd to use the name "XERXES" just because my computer is called like that.

Thanks in advance laugh

It's more annoying when you don't give your PC an anthropomorphised name and are just continually referred to as Desktop.

Yeah, friend of mine was called "Dell-PC".

This would be great to have. Have to say, I was disappointed it wasn't in the original release, but I guess it just goes to show what store Larian expected would carry the bulk of their sales. Not to say I'm surprised.

Personally, I don't think it's as bad as the issue around patching that we've seen—and thank you, Larian, for finally adding an auto-patching system directly into the game. Regardless, I think the best thing that could come of all of our issues with Dragon Commander would be never seeing any of the same issues or similar problems when Original Sin is launched.

Well, you can not change your name in the Steam version, either (it is just less of an issue because the name people pick for Steam is intended to be used for gaming, and possibly online multiplayer).

Yes you can, since you can change your steam name to whatever you'd like and that is what is being used in game. However, you can also change your pc's name.

Here's how: Change pc name on win7/vista

There you go, a quick reboot and you'll have a different name in game.

Granted, using an option for this in-game would be faster and better, but as a temporary solution this also works.
