ok so i started playing dd2 directors cut...played for a good hour....now every time i get to the playhouse where the ghosts are rehearsing my pc completely shuts down..not to windows..but turns off....ive monitored my temps and pcu is 45c and gpu 60...it always happens in that area...windows 7 4gb ram nvidia gtx 550ti athlon 7550 dual core 2.50 processor..any help please..

Is it entering the playhouse that causes a problem or just getting near it?
If you were in the playhouse previously with that character, went through the cellar and came out the hatch on the opposite side of the street (near the soldier burning undead corpses and the healer wanting to study them), you could try getting back in that way.

If you start a new FoV character can you head straight to Lanilor Lane and enter the playhouse?
What about using the Developer Mode version of the game, opening the cheat window (F11) and teleporting there, using 'goto Region' Exp_AlerothCity Exp_AC_FightHouse03 (which is the fourth in a list of such locations, with the numbers cut off).

Did you try re-installing the game, or verifying local files for the Steam version? (especially if you have a problem with a new character)

I tried veryfing files..its right at the playhouse sometimes before the rehearsal and som ettimes in the back room..is the playhouse needed for main story?

No, the playhouse is not required for the main plot. You need to get into the cellar in order to find the Order of the Viper Bracers (FoV warrior set), and to complete the play to get one of the pieces of jewellery you need for a minor side quest.

You can use the Developer Mode 'unlock' button to get into the cellar from the hatch on the opposite side of the street. For the jewellery, you can enter the playhouse (if you want to risk that lasting long enough to avoid a shutdown) and then use the 'goto' button (X = -12, Y = -3, Z = -3) to bypass the play and talk to the NPC you need to get the jewellery (then use 'gotocharacter' or 'goto Region' to get out).
