boah that should be a way to show Larian's interest for the ones that could not participate for a reason or another to the kickstarter campaign and that could also be some awesome goodies and IG content for all the players

I'll buy my collectors edition, but I gotta have my ponycorn mount, my extra Orc companion, my infinite double exp potions, my exclusive item sets, a founders cloak, three extra continents of content, main char stat boosts and my physical box shipped with 2 Div:Dos tee-shirts, a wall poster, a Div:Dos bottle opener, 2 pewter statues of the main characters, a cloth map and a fuzzy 20 sided dice for my rear view mirror.

But I'm not picky

c'me on not a cloth map again !!! let's be more creative !!
the 20 sides dice is however a really good idea ^^
boost is cheating but 3 extra continent sounds the minimum for a collector edition :p

So apparently according to the Friday 13th live stream Larian plans to do preorders... and collector's editions! It'll be interesting to see how they handle that, considering the need to not undervalue the support of kickstarter backers. I suspect some backers may feel a bit miffed if a collector's edition appeared with unique stuff that they don't get. They'll probably just add some of the same stuff at a comparable or slightly higher price.

I would bet on a collector with new stuff !! anyway if the collector is good I will offer my digital version of D:OS to a friend (keeping the code for the kickstarter potion and Zandalor's trunk héhé) and buy the collector. Does Larian have an idea about what goodies they will inclde in the collector?

I'm not sure if it would make sense to have multiple collector's editions of the game.

a now increased price for a kickstarter-CE sounds reasonable to me, b/c backing is (also) about getting something at a discounted price from a backers point of view. so, @larian: just put the different (still reasonable) kickstarter tiers on the vault at a higher (yet reasonable ;-) ) price just as others did/do (e.g. project eternity)

BIG SUGGESTION: a "construction option". so, let customers put together their individual CE via several optional components (add ons), which are all priced individually (e.g. game + behind the scene material + map OR game + soundtrack OR ...)

I think I already said it but one solution to please the kickstarter backers would be the one Blizzard used for Diablo 3 : when you bought 1 year of WoW, you got Diablo 3 for free but only the basic game. Many people complained that no offer included the collector edition, then Blizzard offered the one who suscribed this offer to pay 30€ more to get the collector edition (30€ was the price difference between normal and collector edition)

so taking this model, Larian can propose the kickstarter backers to pay the price difference between physical collector edition and whatever-kind-of-copie-you-pledged to get the collector.

I just want you to notice that a new collector edition might please a lot of people, not only the backers and some backer like me would be please to buy the collector edition IN ADDITION to the kickstarter version (I intend to offer a evrsion of the game to a really good friend as a late Xmas gift). more sales mean more money to Larian who took a big risk by putting all their money in D:OS, and I would be really pleased to spend my money buying a collector version giving Larian the possibility to make more amazing games !! The more they sell, the better it is
