I do not think so, Swen said they are hard working (probably more than me on my thesis) to release it before Christmas break that would means more likely the week 18th-23rd of december

Well I think with the new announcement video it's safe to assume that we'll see it soon

Edit: Seeing what Chaotica said my assumption may be incorrect but I guess only Larian knows when it's gonna be out and I doubt they'll announce the actual date, it will probably just pop up out of nowhere and we'll all be happy

Obviously not a lot is known yet about the alpha access, but I pledged in for two copies of the game, so do you suspect that they might give out two keys? Would seem rather discouraging of testing co-op to allow only one per person. I understand why on a security standpoint, but I'm just a wishful thinking sort of guy.

Actually, since Larian opened access to everyone to get more feedback, it would make sense to provide as many alpha/beta keys as people have copies of the game (through add-on or tier rewards). I haven't seen any official comment on that, but barring technical difficulties I would assume that is the intention.

Co-op was available in the pre-alpha builds during the kickstarter, so I would think should be in the beta. Presumably Larian will want feedback on that, as well.

I'm sure you'll find someone to play with! Even if there isn't an option to make your game public so that people can randomly join I'm sure that you'll be able to make a post on the forums to ask if anyone wants to join your game ^^

yeah I am searching a mate to test the co-op version of the game, I do not mind playing the guy or the girl, but as I do not know when is the release, I cannot give you my playing timetable (mainly due to Xmas break, in january it will be fine) :p
but for sure if there are other players who wanna try co-op I am in !!

there is a steamgroup for Weresheep of Original Sin. I think there we can team up when the alpha comes out in two years

The default characters are male and female, but you can choose either gender for each, and there may/should be customization options for the person joining a game, to change the appearance from whatever the host specified (possibly including gender, if Larian adds a Divinity 2 style illusionist to D:OS).

yeah I vaguely remember smtg like that, but anyway it is a beta so I dunno mind, I will pay much more attention to the character customization when I will start the real game

I think they may as well make another official/semi-official group as "I want to be a Beta Dragon".

Original Sin is not Divinity 3 but a prequel. Divinity 3 is for somewhere in the future (when? Only Larian knows, well, they probably don't just yet, but you get the idea :P).

Divinity 3 will finish the story arc of Damian and the Divine One, but will presumably / hopefully not be the last Divinity game. There are all kinds of other stories that can be told in Rivellon (for example, there needs to be another RPG with a dragon knight player character, IMNSHO).

yup that is why I mentionned Divinity 3 and not Divinity: Original Sin, and I hope too that Div 3 will only be the end of an arc and definitely not the end of Larian's Divinity games
