Arguably the game seemed to already be in pretty much that state when the KS started. Of course they overhauled the mechanics etc, but I would kind of expect stability to have improved, not the other way around smile

yeah, sorry, i meant the state *at release*. as other games of other companies have proven that is not necessarily guaranteed.

Larian has updated their projection for releasing the Alpha to be the 16th or 17th, which brings it in line with the information I posted here.

I haven't updated my projection yet.

I'd say most likely the tentative release date of the 17th will be accurate... because I have to go out before 6am that day and will most likely not be able to play much until Wednesday evening.

I really like the sneaky part! The surrounding NPCs does not react to it though. Who would suspect a walking bush??

The bush camouflage was a nice touch.

Just little thing that I noticed that there is a lag before the fireball ignites to the target.

i hope there is not only elementary magic but also things from divine divinity's "schools" (=powers of matter, body & spirit and summoning), e.g. life leech, resurrect, summon demons or undead, invisibility, shields, heal, energy cage, wizard's sight or even necroShift (was not a wizard's way thing, though) etc.

I did see telekinesis as ability or stat, though in swen's let's play

divine divinity's magic and ability system was almost perfect for my taste. very balanced between utility and offensive spells/abilities. i LOVE utility stuff! hehe

Speaking of release dates, it appears that Swen's old blog post may have given us (well, me at least) the false impression that a Feb 28th final release was set in stone. It's not. Yay! Larian's Twitter

So there is some leeway to make sure everything is finished and polished up

I thought the it was the 18th?

Have they said how they'll distribute things? I imagine they'll just add Steam Keys to Larian Vault accounts?

Yes, the beta will be on Steam only, because it is a very convenient platform for that, I hear.
