I read the known issues over here:

But I wonder if it's normal, that I have no music at all. Does this work as expected for this alpha? Anyone else?

I would guess that Kiril hasn't finished composing the music yet, and thus it hasn't been implemented? That was my assumption. But yeah, no music for me either.

No music is indeed working as expected. It will be added later.

I've heard that there should have been some placeholder music, so I do not think this is working as expected.

In the meantime I'm going to fish out some other appropriate music to play as an mp3 in the background. No music at all has a surprisingly detrimental impact on the atmosphere and it's hard to get a good feeling for the game as a result.

David wrote this in the General Feedback thread yesterday, so music not being is intentional, as this is almost pre-alpha.
