I know there is another music thread. But since that was started as a criticism I thought it'd be nice to have a praise focused thread. So here it is.

I'm loving the music. And I'm looking forward to the soundtrack. I'm not much for seeking out albums, music is something that I enjoy when it's around but I rarely seek out. So for me to be excited about it is unusual, but I am. Really the bouncy fun Kickstarter theme sold me, but after hearing the in game alpha track I'm even more interested. Loving the outdoor one, I'm thinking of it as the jungle theme. The one with the low thrum building up and fast chika-chika-chika rhythm. Love it.

My daughter comes in and looks over my shoulder for a moment then goes, that game has good music. That about sums it up.

Some of the more orchestral pieces are nice, raise the tempo of areas etc. But others (the pseudo rock stuff) really does feel completely out of place. Most of all at the moment it seems to cut in in completely inappropriate moments.

Fantasy style rock/metal can be done well. I've been playing the GrimDawn alpha and some of the music in there is just amazing, and really sets the dark atmosphere.

Anyhoo, I'm not going to pass much judgement on what I assume is filler music in the alpha, but I agree that some of it is quite nice.

To be honest i find the music to be not on par with my expectations. Off course, this is a very early stage and i am sure there is still a lot of great music to come. However, what is currently in the alpha seems very out of place to me. I hope the future will bring less of the rhythmic/rock/indian style and be more on the level of the great melancholic and melodic awesomeness that gave the original divine divinity its deep atmosphere.

Well I liked the soundtrack from divinity 2 (ego draconis + flames of vengeance) and parts of the tracks in the alpha sound a bit like it. I'm not sure if these are pure fillers or if this is the first concept of the planned tracks.

I like the music a lot - especially one of the battle themes. So much so that I muted all the other audio and recorded a movie in fraps so I could extract the audio and make an MP3 to listen to when I'm doing other things.

I do like the music. smile And I think I understand what the composer was trying to do with stuff like the rock piece. I remember hearing that Pokrovsky was nervous about putting the music in this early, when he was only half finished with the pieces.

I personally am glad they put it in. This game feels entirely different with its soundtrack in place, even unfinished. ^.^

Mr. Pokrovsky is such a talented composer, I can't wait to hear the final OST for this game.
So far my favorite track in DOS is a sort of guitar ballad that sometimes play when in town, though I can't really identity the instrument used (maybe it's just a midi sound).

I'm really curious about how the long partnership between Kirill and Larian started, I hope sometimes Swen will tell us about it.
