I saw in a few threads ppl talking about movement speed and i think we all are a bit unhappy the way it is now. So i wanted to create a thread where we maybe could discuss about what could be done here.

I mean why don't we have speed buffs already ?
I would suggest that the devs surely thought about it and maybe there is a meaning why we don't have it or they still think of a way how to do it.

Some talk about increasing the base movement speed and some talk about a buff, maybe like an entchantment or a stance?

Sure that would be a way but would'nt this a bit easy or lame ?
Cause we see it like that in almost every game.....

My Idea:

This game has so wonderful ways of combining skills especially for mages. So why not making a increased movement speed system based on that? That way, we had a good explanation, why this skill is usefull within and out of combat at once.

For example, we could take a air mage and give him some kind of "Storm-Skill". When casting this storm-skill, we can define in which direction the wind will blow and the weather will change similar to the "Rain-Skill".

While walking in that direction, the movement speed is increased. While walking in the opposite direction the movement speed is reduced. When you walk in neither of both directions, the speed is normal.

For combat, this could mean that chars that run in the same direction as the wind blows consume less ap for moving and chars that move in the opposite direction use up more ap to walk.

This would make running away from battles a lot easier, cause enemys cannot properly hunt after you and will give up faster their chase after you.
There are so many things you could combine that with....

For example, ppl fall to the ground when running over ice but when they do that within this storm while running in the direction as the wind blows, they run faster and fall even harder to the ground and get knocked 2 rounds? Or recieve dmg from that hard knockdown ? And chars running in the opposite direction, run slower and because of that, they cannot be knocked from the water on the ground.

Or it could make ranger shots stronger cause the arrows would fly better and get a penalty against the wind?
Or combining rain and storm could spread the water on the ground even more.

i mean it's just an idea...
What you think ? or maybe you guys have other ideas laugh.
