I don't like either of the cover-arts much, but mainly for reasons of style, not for any alleged sexism.
I will say that while there is nothing wrong with portraying men or women in sexy, unrealistic, fantastic armour or outfits... in the original cover art the woman was wearing sexy gear and the man was not. This is not necessarily bad or a problem in an instance of art itself, yet considering the greater context of the gaming industry, society and world history, I can see why some people would find it objectionable. I can certainly see why some people would prefer a more equally represented cover.
While I agree with the spirit of that deviantart blogpost, I also found it presented a rather simplistic account of the views it is countering. A blanket dismissal of a broad spectrum of opinion as charlatans, and their characterisation as some sort of organised lobby group, undermined the strong points the post made. As such it did little to persuade me to the author's cause.
But then I tend to think that censorship-free speech issues are usually less clear-cut than is generally assumed. And I'm not even sure that the heart of this issue is about censorship anyway. That said, the idea of banning boob-plate strikes me as pretty absurd. Yet how many people are actually calling for that anyway? I've read many valuable and thoughtful opinions on why people may not like boob-plate, or may prefer realistic gear or whatever. Attacking the weakest 'arguments' of the opposing views doesn't do the issue justice.
Regarding the poll in the OP, I am not going to vote for my preference because I don't have much of one.
