Drag items onto each other to try and craft, some posts in the forum regarding recipes and known bugs for crafting that can guide you pretty well.
Balance wise you just need to play around a bit and find something that works for you, I do well with ice wall and teleport to keep things away from me, at the same time I took an armour skill on my mage to equip heavier stuff which has helped, whack a regen on it when things close in, and use ice dart or whatever it's called to freeze individual targets, you can also learn ice elemental for use as a tank and for an additional ice wall cast. For your warrior are you one or two handed spec, cus I've found since the last 2 updates my warrior has done well with 2 handed weapons like the hire-able companion, and you just need to remember to keep a club handy for skeletons.
