Tips: (spoilers)

Make sure to have all 4 party members.

Loot everything and buy spells from vendor for anyone who can use them.

Train your melee to use bow/crossbow as well. (Melee and Bow are much better after patch)

When you leave the city there are two big fights you may not be ready for North East and South West. I recommend going North West out of town, you will have many low level fights. This game throws out a ton of XP so leveling is pretty quick.

One thing melee needs is Bull Rush skill to be able to get up and in-front of enemies quickly.

Winterbreath is a dominating skill, you have to use it right and look at the range of it.

Use tactics like LOS/bottlenecks.

Ice Elemental and Ice Wall work well to slow down enemies attacking. Ice rinks in the middle of the play-field also does well limiting how many attackers the baddies have.

Simply get used to playing and you'll find all the battles are very much there to be beaten.
