I have also seen that happen.
I have also seen that some times when you kill multiple people with the same action, example: Fireball, it doesn't tell you the exp for all the people or some times its overlapping the xp number.
I haven't tried to figure out if its not giving all the exp or if its just not telling you.
I always reload the battle when this happens and try not to kill them in the same action.
