Hi
we tried today 8 hours gameplay and following things were our problems and thouts.
Bug? No option?: We can't transfer or switch our henchman. After reloading a game, I (as ssecond play) couldnt play my henchman anymore. There is no option and draging doesnt help. Sending the henchman (mage) back to library made him disapear (we went to library after sending him and he wasnt there anymore). One time we loaded the game, my friend ended up being me and I being him, after reloading again, the game crashed.
Bug?: Throwing thunder bolt on Water with enemies in it (zombie animals - north of the town, at the waterfall) didnt do any effect (no electricity dmg - no dmg at all, aiming on the water - they were all wet through rain)
Bug?: We killed the 2 legionaries you meet first. One oft the legionaries went to the place and asked what happened. We attacked him (cuz we wanted no witnesses) and he didnt fight back, we didnt switch to fight mode. We just killed him from the distance.
Attacking in sneakmode, being outside of his view range didnt made us into fight mode. The orc at the totems was a big challenge for us, and we tried to deal some dmg before fighting him from distance. He didnt even react. We were outside of his view range, but at least he should search for us (is he so dumb or drunk to not know, where the arrows and flares are coming from?). Yea, and on the other side, the dumb orc went into fight mode, after we burried far outside of his view range for a corpse of his comrade. They orc was looking in another direction too. And after he telled us, they corpse was buried with his best armor, we were "a little bit" disapointed, when we found at the grave in fron of him (cant remember exactly) 13 gold....
The riddle with the elements: We were in the caves with the pillars and the lever you have to use to activate the elements. On the one side its too easy (I mean, scrolls directly lying in the middle of the place?) on the other side, there was no sign of reaction when pulling the levers in the right way. Yes, they said "what did it do?" but, we were searching the cave for minutes and googling the internet and pulled the levers again and again, but nothing happened. We left then just the cave to find the fire elementals to recognize: Oh, something outside changed.
I think some minor issues are known, like placeholders for names (like candleholders etc.) or the when changin controls, only the cancel button has written "Cancel" on it. We need sometime to change the journal from "L" to "J" (I mean, how the fuck did you get the idea to put it on L?)
Another things are more information in the combat: Like informations for some spells (I even dont know, if the fire flares have infinite range or not, but if, you also can write it into the details). And maybe its on purpose or not: But I also dont have no Idea what chance I have to hit the enemy with flares, while Ranger has the possibility. Or what kind of magic is regeneration? I never realized rly, how my spells improved with leveling fire mage ability. Guess I have to pay more attention next game session.
Thou I have sometimes a red outline on my team mates, i never hit one of them with flares, if they were standing in my line of fire. Also my friend did never do friendly damage, thou our melee fighter was directly in front of the enemy, making it impossible to hit the enemy. On the other side, lying enemies or small dogs were unscalable objects. At the light house, when wolfs were in fron of the necromancer... it was impossible to shoot over the wolfs to hit the flying necromancer. Why? I know you want to protect him, making it difficult to kill him and so the wolfs, but it makes no sense, that small animals (or even lying enemies, after falling slipping on ice) block shots.
apropos ice: Its a cool featues, that the floor is freezing after my ice elemental gets destroyed. But: Throwing a fireball or targeting with fire flares doesnt melt the ice. We thought about making "steam damage" this way, but I know, its not that easy to change the temperature from 0 C° to 100° with just fire, that isnt burning an enemy withing a second. Thou no effect is a little bit disappointing.
Another point is the henchman skillpoints. I decided to be a fire/water mage. The mage from the library was already skilled on water/air (what makes maybe more sense, because of the lightning effect on water [which never worked for us]) but I wish, I could choose him to be anything else (Earth/Air]. It was like lost 3 ability points.
Another issue was synchronization in multiplayer. I (I was joining the game) had the issue, that sometimes I just saw the armor and stuff from my mate, without body. He wasnt there already and it was possible to find the whole body with stuff runnign around anywhere else.
He as Host had once the problem that I was standing around, while I was running anywhere else. We had to reload the game to synchronize
Another issues are dialogues. A history of dialogues would be cool. If my mate clicks too fast on the next button, sometimes I would like to read it thou. In dialogues, when we had to choose answers, the last answer isnt displayed. The chat window just closed. We had to talk with each other.
Helping the people to safe the ship with the rain scroll: We got no reputation for doing so... not implemented?
Oh and we got "+altruistic"(i think it was this) for clicking on a rat. interessitng.
Some arrows on map and minimap would be cool (Like: in which direction is my mate, in which direction the marked quest - atm we dont find anymore suspects besides the captain, cuz we just dont know where they are. (we didnt gave up, just search the city later).
Other things like names of the houses, names of NPC on the Map would be cool too.
Its okay we need to smash 2-3 minutes on a door, to get it open by brutality... but not if the door has a fucking window. Okay, maybe we are too small to climb through. But if you want, you can put a mage woman throu it. make it a little bit smaller?
The green or red lamps for the action points in fight mode are really ugly. I am sure you can make them more beautiful =)
Another thing is the issue, that enemys dont drop equipment. We know its changing much gameplay and could be too overpowered, if you are dropping equipment all the time, which you can a: sell for much money or b: equip instantly. But if you are doing a game where everything makes sense, this part of it makes no sense (Maybe thats the reason for the grave stones, when you kill someone? That they are burried instantly with all their stuff?) Well this point isnt that important, we understand the matter behind this.
Ahw! I as the one who joined the game, had no black fog of war, till we left the town very far north. I had normal fog of war (like seeing not enemies etc. or just see the circles if they are on distance, but i was able to see the whole town and large parts outside of it [ot the light house for example] after I entered the town.
We are also thinking, that the phoenix jump of the two handed henchman is much too OP. Later on, it wasnt killing all enemies at once, but I was a fire mage and didnt do so much dmg with 2 flares... Also the fear spell is kinda OP. We were already surprised that skeletons were afraid of her, but a whole group of enemies, which is unable to attack for ~3 rounds is really a fight breaker for the enemy and just target practice for our mages and the ranger. Thou the fights were challenging later, we think this spells are way too powerful.

I sometimes get the electrified stat and not others. I dunno if that is the case or not. Sometimes I get better results hitting the people not the water.
You can change the Journal by going to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Divinity - Original Sin\Data\PlayerProfiles\Eoc and editing the inputconfig.xml file.
I tend to use the Rain skill to melt the ice.
Sometimes talking to people will randomly show the +____ stat.

The host can fire a companion and the person who joined re-hire them. That should hopefully be fixed in the update planned for this week.
Most of these are known issues, other than the water that didn't electrify (just random chance of triggering, or maybe because it is running water rather than standing?) and your fog of war...
Had you cleared the town area in a previous save? maybe something got carried over from a single player game? (there is a bug where that can happen with quest status in some cases).

melting the ice with rain didnt work for us (at least whole fight it was raining and it didnt melt)
No, i never played so far in single player like the fow was clear (i just reached the city entrance)
Other issues I remember:
Buttons next to minimap would be very cool: Center on your char. Center on your teammate. Center on the point you want to run to (so you can switch between your char and point to see if you are running into enemies)
Using Ports: It says, you cant port, while in dialogue... Okay we just realized we were whole time in dialogue, because we send our dude to kings crabs. we had to retake him into group and we could teleport AND save the game again
Does repair work? Cuz we cant repair at vendors and dont find an anvil
We managed it to phoenix dive into a location, we wouldnt come on normal way...
Some Vendors are showing different things to sell if you talk and trade with them on different times... (sometimes what you sold em, sometimes what they have on stock...)
A name for the shrines would be cool on map

No, repair doesn't work, and may not make it into the update planned for today/tomorrow. There is an anvil in the hall of heroes in the homestead, and another behind one of the houses in Cyseal. After you come up the stairs from the harbour, check behind the house west of the fountain.

correcting: rain helps to melt, you got to click on the location you want to melt the ice correcting: the mage henchman isnt going back to library, he is in the king grab tavern and he is there if you release him (but sometimes you are still in dialogue mod with him, making it impossible to save and use portals)

issue:
i found a red hood somewhere, i never could wear it with my mage (lack of armor skill) and I never could let it drop onto the floor to trade it. Anywhen it just disapeared out of my Inventory

Tornado: caster makes himself dmg and the orcs on the beach... those tiny axes... kiddin me? why not give them a lego axe?

balancing:
we played today for few more hours and maybe have some words to the balancing of mages:
The mages are kinda ambivalent: On the one hand they have powerful AOE spells, which make them OP somehow. On the other side, these spells are often of no use.
The reason is simply: Having a melee combat fighter in front of the range combat fighters, makes it difficult to cast. Spells like Fireball, Storm, Tornado, Winterbreath and even Ice Wall or Ice summon (which create Ice on the floor and prevents our close combat fighter to engage enemy, as well as it prevents the enemy from coming near) are AOE effects, that makes the gameplay somehow odd.
Because there are 2 options: Keeping enemy on distance, which is kinda easy with those mighty spells or letting enemy engage and you cant cast anymore, except the very weak flares, blitz bolt, etc. (but often only because they can fly through friendly members, which makes no sense). This takes somehow the fun. If it runs perfect, neither their close combat fighters, nor ours have to fight.
I know this is a matter in many games, that AOE is doing dmg to friendly daudes. But it never felt so extreme like in this game. I donwdt know what spells were coming in this game, I can only speak of what we know now (being lvl 7 and only spells from the town). In Neverwinter Nights II for example you had a lot of other possibilities (like paralizing enemies, or cast a shield on your comrades, to protect em from your AOE dmg [my water shield does +5% protection from water.. thats little bit low], buff close combat fighters, summon, etc. etc. you know what I mean - more balance between aoe damage dealer and support class - should be more possible with the principle of elements, cuz you dont have to choose between mage and priest)

other issues:
lost sound twice in the black clove (1 times when orcs were fighting vs. skeletons, another time when somewhere before we game to the levers room) entering a new area (with loading screen) brought back sound.
we found some weird clothes (smelly underwear, fortified robe, etc.) that makes us naked
Our close combat fighter hanchman had a long two-handed battle axe. The char was holding it under the blades at fought with it like a retard. The next battle axe she held it normal and used it the normal way. Is that on purpose?
is it on purpose that you land on a small rocky island and without any reason you join back the group after fighting the pirate ghost and leaving the cave through the hatch? We thought we get back the character, maybe using the ship behind the pirates, to get him off the island. makes no sense at all this way
to repair: they introduced Durability and wont introduce repair soon? Makes sense a lot... not. I hope they bring repair with the major patch or at least DISABLE the loss of durability from weapons and armor (after first bow lost whole points of durability and in fact it wasnt useable anymore we thought that was really a bad joke, i mean wtf? Its like introducing bruning dmg, praise it and 2 patches later its possible, that your chars stop burning)

I don't think all the armor designs are in, as all robes and any item with a blue shirt icon is basically like wearing nothing.
The only island thing I remember in the cave was when you pulled a certain lever and was teleported there. I had unchained my mains from my companions and was able to just use teleporter pyramid to get back. Or use the homestead button. But I was able to leave from the cave the same way I entered.

yea, the pyramid. well we saw it in the room, but we didnt steal it yet. and after all i heard hear its kinda OP. Why do this island as a consequence of your choice to pull the lever and than "okay, doesnt matter, i got my pyramid" ....

Well the pyramids are a nice way to group back up if you and your partner decide to explore separately. Or if one character lagged behind and combat started they can jump to the others in a sec. You don't have to use them, but the only other choice you have to get down would be going to homestead. And from there you could easily use waypoint to get back to the black cove. To say the pyramids are OP is like saying fast travel/waypoints are OP. Which in my mind is ridiculous.

well I found the idea of being stuck on an island, you cant leave... you even saw skeletons lying there who tried to pull the lever too and starved to death, somehow amusing and a good idea. you had to defeat the pirate ghosts and somehow free him from the lever. But no, fuck this good diea, lets use the pyramid... meh

well we now have around 10h playing with my friend, I did not really found a place to put that so let's give my feedbacks here !!
Bug report -first bug and real problem : I cannot load my save, the game crash (I don't mean loading save from a previous version of the alpha or combat save as indicate in the last steam update) -as indicated many times, we sometimes see the armour of our mate floating, graphic bug I assume -in combat, sometimes, during a fight, the damages do not appear : my mate could see the damages but not me anymore, the floating text just did not appear anymore, and this until the end of the fight -same for the music, sometimes the music stop and there is no music at all until the end of the fight (my friend had a worse problem, the entire sound : music, effect... stopped, but it came back after the fight) -when we fight Arthu (it was a mistake of course, my pal was a bit too hasty to test his new spell so he did it in Arthu's house -_- ) he disapeared and we could not see him anymore (even after he killed my friend and I resurected him, Arthu was not in the room) however, when we stole things in his room he complains...
Suggestion -killing the henchmen gives us XP : WTF? so we can kill them, resurect them, kill them again, resurect them again... -the tinytwins are just over powerful !! we could defeat them but come on they are even harder to kill than a dozen of orcs (and this is not a joke !!) -the 2nd player cannot save the game or use the waypoint !!! when we try to save it says that we cannot save while we are tchatting... this is a BIG drawback !! -another drawback for multiplayer : the henchmen cannot be linked to the 2nd player, so only the first player can control them... this is a bit frustrating I must admit
EDIT : I forgot something, please Larian, please, can we STACK the gold?!! I have like 5 different stack of gold -_- same same with empty bottle, nails or other trash like that

- If the game crashes on loading saves, that should definitely be reported. Larian squashed the bugs in that system in most cases with the last couple patches.
- getting XP for killing your partners and companions will be fixed, it's a bug, not a feature. - the Tinytwins do hit hard, but I found them pretty easy to deal with by locking them down with stun (Rain + blitzbolt) or knockdown (Rain + ice surface (Ice wall / Ice Elemental). - the henchmen not linking to the second player is a bug. - gold not stacking is a bug

chaotica is reporting some issues we enountered too and forgot to tell. other issues we had today (before completing the whole alpha content): many quests are kinda buggy or incomplete I think I already saw somewhere the bug you get after talking to testimonia (in the black cove, behind the omnious black gate) - we get a ctd when we reach the light house, where we should meet her The whole jakes murder quest is kinda incomplete or buggy: Robert from the morgue is the only one we could hand over to justice. We didnt see him in prison (thou we forget to have a look, if he is still in the morgue) In Esmeraldas Shop, when trying to take something (like the shoes) a chat window appears, where Esmeralda is talking to you. But Esmeralda isnt anywhere in the shop. We cant find her anywhere, but have the suspicion to meet her later in an area which is still to come Evelyn, thou we know its the white witch and the doctor knows too, is still a healer in the "hospital" My friend came into prison, cuz he tried to steal from the Mayor. Well, he could just pick lock the prison door and leave without consequences. The guard in front of him wasnt reacting, the other one hasnt even a view range. We thought his stuff is in the prison treasure room and killed both guards. only the guard in front of the prison, was fighting, the other one resigned to fight and it seems like he his affairs and welcomed death. Is it possible to flee from prison anytime by using the teleport pyramids or going to homestead? Is there any other way to leave the prison, instead of beaiming away or picklocking? Cuz we didnt find any other way I talked to the mayor to show me the library. 1.: He shows you the library as often as you ask (he seems to be kinda proud) 2.: If you ask him to show the library and dont come up to talk to him, we will stay there till you come or the end of his life comes. After finishing the black cove (about <2h) he was still waiting for me. Its cool to get rid of him, to loot his room, but how could someone so naive get a mayor? :P His woman wears a bra in the bath tube... must be bug! :p We didnt find the head of the headless ghost after defeating the pirates we are not sure, if the star gem we found on the ship, after killing the zombie pirates, is in our inventory or at least, the imp doesnt take it (or maybe we have to find more?) We dont know, if the quest with the pillars and the elements can be completed. So far we found just 2 place with pillars and 1 mob with fire elementals. I guess we have to fight 4 different elemental mobs. The fabalous five disapeared out of town, after we told Arhus about their plans? atm we believe, we will find em sometimes later and we still want our reward for destroying the machine  Arhu isnt even angry that we destroyed the machine and we still dont know, why undead were controling it. (maybe we read too fast) Overall we were missing some hints and informations to quests: Sometimes it was clear and yea, the quest is done. Other times, we were surprised that it was completed. Sometimes we didnt know what to do (only option was to keep on looking everywhere we didnt look atm and so find maybe something or someone which/who can help us to continue the quest. I dont speak of making quests more easy to make, like telling us what we have to do step by step, but on some points we got the feeling "Okay? Whats left to do (what is the goal) or did we miss something?" For example killing Victora. The Mayor told us: Thats terrible, we have to stop it, no matter how. We talked to Victoria, we talked to (i think the captain) to prison him and nothing happened. At the end we killed the one in the tavern who wanted to killt he orc woman and found the bloody amulett. But it didnt change anything in the minds of the involved npcs.

There are two people you can have arrested if you find all the evidence. You have to go to the morgue to see Roberts arrested before he appears in the jail. There is another way out of the prison interact with the skeleton Nick's head isn't held by the pirates go to the two dueling attractions in Cyseal The burial mound can be completed the papers you find contain the clue. To complete Arhu's Failed Experiment you must talk to Yoranus. Ness one of the guys you saved from machine. He's guarding the treasure room in the prison
