If you are going after Evelyn, then head the other direction from the waypoint. Use magic on the statues.
If you mean down the beach from the waypoint, all I get there is the guys with the staff and then nothing but more beach until I can go no further. As for the statues, I figured that but it doesn't have to do with the whole Evelyn thing, right?
