No, it isn't common, but a few people have also run into that problem with 64 bit versions of windows (it is common in 32 bit versions, though more returning to the main menu than crashing). There should be a large update today, as long as no serious problems are found during QA. It is 6:30pm in Belgium now, so it should be out soon (12 minutes ago Swen Vincke tweeted "Almost - just one last bug").

Try now, after the update.
Additionally, please remove "Larian Studios" folder from "My Documents" and try again.

If you have Dragon Commander, just remove/rename the 'Divinity Original Sin' subfolder in the ..\My Documents\Larian Studios' folder.

It still doesn't work ... just the icon changed from a smiley to a warrior, should I launch as Admin or not.
Otherwise I have no Larian Studios folders in my documents
Is the fact that I clicked on "Maybe Later" very first window responsible of that?

It couldn't hurt to try running as administrator.
Check if your firewall is blocking access (Control Panel, System and Security, Windows Firewall, Allow a program through Windows Firewall). If you don't see 'Divinity Original Sin' in the list, click on Allow another program, browse to the '..\SteamApps\common\Divinity - Original Sin\Shipping' folder and add EoCApp.exe and SupportTool.exe.

I removed the folder, tried again but same bug. Only the icon changed.
I checked the firewall settings and all programs for the game are not blocked (allowed).
I sent the crashlog using the support tool. Hope it helps.

Hi
I downloaded the game on Steam, and I am not even able to launch the game! Hello, I just bought the game on Steam and have the exact same problem. I use Windows 64 bit and I play on a laptop with integrated graphics and also an Nvidia GTX 670M. I've set the game to use the dedicated GPU and not integrated. I filled in the error report and sent files. Thanks for any help...really want to play the game!

Presumably sourcery determines something unlocked by a plot event (your characters are Source Hunters). Filters have not been implemented yet.

Hi! My game's working now. I verified the integrity of the game on Steam and there were 301 files missing. All good...for now

Any help?
I'm expecting at least some help/comment from technical service for resolving the issue I'm ok for paying money for helping a product to be finished, but please help people unable to launch it
Otherwise really don't I see the point of making a payable alpha

Some graphical issues: 1. Shadows from outside the house (tree shadows) can be seen in house interior: 2. Terrain beyond the edge of the map can be seen as black (unrendered?): 3. Characters can walk through each other (clipping issue):

Please email supportdos@larian.com, with a description of the problem and the report.zip file generated by the D:OS support tool.

I'm running two monitors and Crossfire enabled with two AMD 6850s, approx 10 minutes into playing 1/4~ of my monitor will shift to the right side, from the left. The other 3/4~ will shift to the left to fill the sudden void. I've replicated this twice, once with Vsync on and once off. I'll verify with steam then see if it replicates and take a picture. NOTE: this lasted outside of the game as well requiring a restart. EDIT: This is what happens after the bug. I didnt get the same reproduction because the screen didn't split but I got the same end results approx.

Hi Folks,
Sorry if this issue has been addressed already, I didn't see it in the forums.
I get to the main screen, choose new game, there's about 15 seconds of loading....then back to the main menu.
My setup is:
Intel i7 970 @3.2 GHz 2xGeForce GTX 570 video 12 Gig Ram Windows 7 Ultimate - 64 Bit
Thanks, Kregar

Make sure your firewall isn't blocking access for the game (EoCApp.exe and SupportTool.exe both need access). Try starting the game directly from the '..\SteamApps\common\Divinity - Original Sin\Shipping\EoCApp.exe' program file. Perhaps right click and run as administrator (or right click, select properties and switch to the Compatibility tab if that doesn't help). See Killer Networks NIC and can't load the game? Fix!, if applicable.

Hey there, i´m constantly getting a bluescreen after playing some minutes. Sometimes after 15 minutes, sometimes more quicker. My operating System is Win 7 64bit. Don´t know if my Hardware is good to know?

Bluescreens - especially on Windows 7 - are typically signs of hardware failure. I'd get that checked if I were you.
You could try playing other games or doing other things and see if you still get the issue.
