Larian Studios Forums Divinity - Original Sin Divinity - Original Sin - General Regarding Multiplayer and Friends

Hello and good morning to you all! I have been searching for information about playing co-op/multiplayer but have been unsuccessful in finding an answer. Would anyone know if we can play the game (probably not currently, but at release) with more than one other person? I have enjoyed playing co-op and would love to expand the party a bit. I would greatly appreciate any insight that you could offer me.

It's not possible.

You cannot play with more than one person at a time.

The main game is focused on 2 player co-op. Mods will be able to have 4 players, maybe 6; main game has 2 PCs and up to 2 henchmen / companions and 2 summons (plus the possibility of an NPC joining the party temporarily), but I don't recall if players can take over the 'summons' slots (don't think so). The engine itself supports more players, but the current UI, etc, does not expose that.

That makes sense, I appreciate the information Raze. When I purchased the Duo pack on steam for my wife and I to play, This caused a friend of ours to become curious and inquire if they could join if they bought a copy. I simply just did not have a an answer to give him. I am sure he'll pick up a copy anyway since he has been very impressed with everything that he has seen so far of the game. Between the three of us, I am sure we can work out some arrangement, my wife has a little less free time to play than I do, so I could have a save file in which I play with my wife and one for my friend.

Anyway, because I am sure you didn't want/need to hear that train of thought. Once again thank you for the information, I really appreciate it! It is cool to hear that through modding or possibly a patch further down the road the potential to increase the player party size "might" be there. For now though I am really happy with what I have.
