Does anyone have any idea when additional content will be unlocked?

There will be a couple more updates before new content gets added (mentioned in the last kickstarter update video). That video also indicated the next update may be this week (said about 10 days, or so, which would be about the end of this week, not counting the weekends).

Any news ? Issues? What are they working on, difficulties, any update, or they don't give a shit because they made some good money already. They managed to provide a video update every two days during kickstarter, just to get some freaking money it seems, and can't give any decent info for two weeks? And give me a break with that "Spring" video. They shouldn't give any date if they learned anything or were honests... Godammit, I am raging again...

They are working on the next update, just like they said when they released the last update less than 2 weeks ago. The 'about 10 days' is about this Friday, if you don't count weekends, so there should most likely be an update or more details on the progress today or tomorrow.
Do you really need updates between the updates to let you know how the updates are coming? You may want to follow Larian's twitted accounts; they have tweeted about ETAs and delays for previous updates.

They are working on the next update, Really ? I thought they were making proposal videos. Time for this, but not enough to give informations about what is going on. Do you really need updates between the updates to let you know how the updates are coming? Yes. Last official piece of information on the official forum is from december.

You know, Cromcrom, it's funny, because a couple of your posts helped remind ME that I can be a bit of a jerk and overly hostile. Because of that, I've tried to curb that habit and think, and wait more instead of posting angry. I just wanted to give some context. Any news ? Issues? What are they working on, difficulties, any update, or they don't give a shit because they made some good money already. They managed to provide a video update every two days during kickstarter, just to get some freaking money it seems, and can't give any decent info for two weeks? And give me a break with that "Spring" video. They shouldn't give any date if they learned anything or where honests... Godammit, I am raging again... You're being a dick. You do realize that making updates as fast as they did in Kickstarter was crazy fast and unsustainable, yes? They certainly can't do it at the same pace because they have a game to work on, and making updates for the sake of making updates is a distraction from the development cycle.

Yes. Last official piece of information on the official forum is from december.
Larian might not post official statements here on the forum but it is rather the problem of them spreading thin between too many places to keep up-to-date than of them not saying what is going on. For news and updates for updates, you could try Swen's Twitter (@LarAtLarian) Larian Studios' Twitter (@larianstudios) and Larian Studios' facebook page Swen is right now in the United States showing the game to the American press. In the last Kickstarter Update he mentioned that the next alpha build would be coming in about 10 days - so, we could expect a game update either tomorrow or at the beginning of the next week. If they can keep up updating the D:OS build every two weeks (which they have done until now), then I think it is a good frequency.

And you can trust me, I write only a tenth of what I think right now, and really restrain myself. Swen is right now in the United States showing the game to the American press. Is he aware how bugged and unbalanced this game is so far ? In the last Kickstarter Update he mentioned that the next alpha build would be coming in about 10 days Yeah, and in some others, he said to expect the editor for december, and the game for tomorrow. Gimme a break, and forgive me if I am not overly confident. You do realize that making updates as fast as they did in Kickstarter was crazy fast and unsustainable, yes? They certainly can't do it at the same pace because they have a game to work on, and making updates for the sake of making updates is a distraction from the development cycle. Gimme another break. What I call a distraction from development was this proposal stuff. Keeping stupid fanboys like myself informed would be part of the job, I think. I am not asking for half an hour video updates, but just coming here and give some news about development progress. Try to imagine how much I don't give a shit about that, and you won't even be remotely close to reality.

I am going to state the obvious, but making video update takes time so the time they spend making an update is time they don't spend working on the game. My point is, what is the point of making update just to make updates...? it is just a waste of time so a waste of money. In addition to Elwyn post, you can check the steam page of the game, you have sometimes small updates too so you can have a look on what the Larian's teams are doing

Surprising fact: Larian did not suddenly take a holiday and stop working just because Swen is not in the building!
Astonishing fact: if you show games to the media, the media reports on your games. If the media reports on your games, you get more customers! If you get more customers, you get more money! If you get more money, you can make better games!
Amazing fact: Software development is an art not a science! Unexpected delays and setbacks happen. If you don't trust Larian to deliver, why did you back them through Kickstarter?
Even if you don't have time or don't care to read sources of information other than the Larian forums, other people who do read those are normally happy to pass along what they have heard. But being a jerk is not going to make people want to spend time to pass along stuff like that to you.

From what I read about it, Twitter is for no brainers who can't write sentences that are more than what, 20 words long ? Not even talking about a structured text, of course. As for Facebook, it's for people who try to make their lives look interesting, and try to believe they have friends. I don't even have a twitter account. As for Facebook, I "overused" it so much I forgot the damn password. Steam could be OK I guess, but so far, it is a totally unorganized mess of a "forum" compared to the one here.
I am so old fashioned, you know, believing an official forum would be the main place to share official informations. Silly me.

Surprising fact. From what I know, they could as well have. Astonishing fact: having a lot of money doesn't guarantee good games. Presenting a bugged and unbalanced build doesn't guarantee customers. Amazing fact: I trusted them at that time.
As for the other media, I wrote my point about them.

@ Cromcrom, you do not have to have a twitter or Facebook accounts to read Larian's twits or facebook page.
google search: "Larian twitter" yields as two top results links to Larian's twitter account and to Swen's twitter account. Just one click on the links allows you to read Larian's twits (both pages can be also bookmarked so that you do not have to google search every time).
google search: "Larian facebook" yields a link to Larian's facebook page (again bookmark it if you like).
I do not use twitter myself and I am not very often on Facebook, but looking up Larian's pages once every few days allows me to stay updated on what they are doing now. Regardless of what your opinion about twitter and Facebook is (and which I even might share to some degree), it is now a very common practice (not only from Larian but also from other companies) to primarily use these two channels to share news and updates.

Who da thunk it? But regardless, in case Crom does not already KNOW they are working on the game and Larian Studios is not a single employee operation, production does not stop when videos are made or Swen is showing off the game to the press. And guess what? If you watch those videos, they are actually updates as to current development status as well. This is just the way business is done. Updates, news and announcements are made all over the web, from Twitter to Facebook to whatever newfangled web tech is currently out there for maximum exposure, usually to the neglect of "official" forums. If you aren't new to gaming, you should already know this.
I pledged and all I got was this lousy awesome game!

I do wish they would communicate on this forum more often, I really don't like having to piece together information from various other sources. It could be limited to updating some of the stickied threads and I would be happy.
That said, Cromcrom is overreacting in a bizarrely passive-aggressive manner.

For example, in the Gamespot video which I won't link as it is full of spoilers, we saw some features in the build shown to the press: - You can preview the path of your spells (and ranged shots?) Oddly, that wasn’t in the dev build, but it WILL be in the next Alpha build.
- Bigger arrows for switching between party members inventories
- Switching party members in the barter screen and skills menu
- Radius markers for spells (really fancy ones, too)
- Tombstones are still in, but they’ve gotten a new look too.
- Minimap arrows to indicate the direction of your party members
- Graphical upgrade for Skills menu
- Perception will give you an indication in Charm/Reason/Intimidate dialogue about which one (if any) gives you a situation bonus.
- New Status effects: Slow (half AP) and Chilled. Both were tied to environmental conditions in specific areas.
The next patch is supposed to have a LOT of code changes, such as AI improvements.

All those changes sound great. I am proud to be a Larian fanboy when I keep seeing the improvements this game is getting over time.
