I'm going to be a mean ol' jerk again and say that "hide helm" is really not important, especially when there are loads of other, way, way, way, way, way more important things that need work.
I'd put this idea on the "add in a patch sometime after the game gets released" pile.

Well I agree I wouldn't want it to be something that holds up the game release, but I seriously doubt it would be that much trouble. It's not like we are asking animated glow in the dark armor.
