Skyrim is the sort of game you can complete a questline then go and play something else and then come back to. I'm currently playing through the Dragonborn add-on with my original character. I tried a couple of the player made add-ons Wrymstooth and Moonpath to Elsweyr which added around 10 hours.
I still haven't done everything in Oblivion and I bought that when it came out.
I'm fairly familiar with skyrim. I've played that for more than 60 hours upon release until I knew that my dual casting healer/mage sucks as compared with other cookie cutter build. I've played a bit of Oblivion.
I'm more of an MMORPG guy myself, so I fell in love with ESO upon playing the first beta. Others have said otherwise, but that is fairly subjective for me.
I will play a scaly argonian on that game ;P.
