I suppose given the choice, I would've sooner lost the multiplayer component, but the schedules and day/night things were really just the icing on the cake: I'd sooner have the game without them than not at all!
I wonder if the framework will be there for NPC schedules even if the schedules themselves remain unimplemented? That way I could add some of my own if the fancy takes me. And probably break stuff in the process.
