After watching the updates for a while, I finally broke down and bought this game when it hit beta. While I'm having fun (played through the tutorial, then rerolled and went straight into the story) there is definitely a steep learning curve. It doesn't help that some things might be confusing me due to bugs. I have a few basic questions, but I'm sure to have more. Is there a guide of any sort that walks through the basics of the game/mechanics? For reference, here are a few questions I have.
What do the exclamation points above your characters heads mean? At first I thought it indicated a journal update or level-up, but they weren't going away. Might be a bug related to the indicator that said I had 4500 experience of the 3500 needed to hit the next level.
Leveling up is just spending skill and ability points, right? Like I mentioned above, after leveling up, the exp indicator didn't update with the next amount.
How does the guerrilla skill (double damage when sneaking) work? If I attack while sneaking, my character immediately comes out of sneak. Is the double damage being applied?
In the opening level on the beach, a legionare walked into a lake of fire my mage had created. After combat ended, the legionares were hostile towards me and I had to kill the one that caught fire. Seems to be a bug?
I assume it requires 2 ability points to upgrade an ability that's already at level 1? I was unable to upgrade any of the abilities already at 1 on my first level-up.
Any help with basic character stats would be appreciated. I know the basics of DnD style rpgs, of course, but each game has it's own quirks and it would help to know which skills and abilities help each class the most. For example, raising one of the skills on my mage that indicated it increased AP, didn't actually increase the AP value after applied.
I'm sure I'll have some more questions when I play some more.
Thanks for any help!
