I beat the game.
RTS mode isn't hard, even on hard.
You learn the bad AI patterns and pathfinding and how to exploit it, and bam, you win every battle within 10 minutes, where all of the momentum is determined by how you play the first minute of the game.
It's that the entire mode is clunky and shallow. This game is nothing more than an interactive novel with some bad game modes slapped on to give it an illusion of depth.
EDIT: Besides, even if it was tough as nails, that wouldn't stop it from being a shallow experience that likes to punish you.
And from the topic you made listing all the things this game fell short on, I don't know how you justify to yourself that this game isn't incomplete. Most games I play I have a complaint or two about, or the problems are really obvious bugs. Your list of gameplay improvements is longer than the things the game did only okay on.
How to improve Dragon Age: Don't repeat environments.
How to improve Starcraft: Maintain multiplayer balance.
How to improve Bioshock: Release more story DLC.
How to improve Dragon Commander: HERE'S A TEXTBOOK.
