Also, has anyone else noticed that if you have Pet Pal you can find 4 smelly things to narrow down the list of suspects. Great. However, last item can only be located after you actually kill the guilty party which makes this approach to solving the quest a waste of time and pretty useless. The item should be located in the suspects house. Or, do away with this optional approach!
Not true. Each person has two Smelly items. One on their person to be pickpocketed (or used from their corpse) the other is located in their house - except for the guilty party's one, which is located in their workplace.
