I've got the book with all the commands, yet none of them, apart from the one that disables the remote, seem to do anything to the Robot. I've tried it out of the cave, in the cave, in combat, out of combat and nothing seems to have any effect.

The first time I tried the remote, character #1 would say something along the lines of, "Nothing seems to have happened", to which character #2 would reply, "Try something different". This happened no matter what combo of buttons I pressed. I then decided to save and reload, and now no one seems to react at all to when I use the remote.

I'm not sure if I've run into some form of bug or I'm missing something.

In the alpha you could shut down the Sparkmaster, but I don't think that is working in the beta.

Remember the commands only works in combat, not if you're seeing the Sparkmaster, but are still not in combat...

Could be the reason for seeing this...

When I try using the remote in combat with the Sparkmaster, it brings my character out of combat and after I use the remote, skips his turn until the very end and doesn't seem to do anything. I've even tried doing this with half my team in combat and the character with the remote out of combat.

Yeah, it's slightly awkward, dropping the char out of combat (and then the NPC allies may attack and kill the skeletons).
But so far it always seemed to work to me if I used a 'proper' command (since I also sometimes did typed it wrong and it did nothing).

Which commands do you try to use. Since I know one or 2 are actually not working (probably by design, as atleast one would be the malfunctions cause ;)).

I just tried using the remote again and I finally seemed to get the self-destruct option to work after trying the command two times in a row (while in combat). I guess the other options just aren't working, like you mentioned.

I guess that'll have to do for me.

Thank you for the assistance!

Just for our (and Larian's) info; what other options did you try to use?

- Pretty sure that's just standard attack behavior (and should undo option #3).
- Yup.
- It should do something with it's weapons/spells. Did you fought it afterwards and see if it only did melee (I didn't, I should have... oh well, next time)
- Yeah, that's a doozy XD
- I'm pretty sure that's the one I mention before that lead to the robot's breakdown in the first place, and is therfore similar to #1. Basing this mostly on talks to rats though, and just my own hunch smile

Now that you mention it, it might have worked. I did continue to fight afterwards, and it only used melee attacks. Then again, I was in melee range anyway. I'll test it another time.

Umm.. i just killed it. While he killed all the NPCs there.

My problem is that upon returning to the town i cannot finish the quest, or say to anyone that i have destroyed it. Not to any of the Fabolous Five group or anyone else.
(i think i got the option to say something about it to Arhu but that didnt do anything to finalize the quest)

I thought this is probably a very known bug. But reading this thread... maybe not?

I killed the Monster with a fire-elemental (no other Party member or NPC's included first) I had no control panel, because I wont be a member of this "fabolous five"

I want to save the NPC's because you get a reward later in the game. But also no one in the City knows that we killed the Monster. Why this saved NPC dont tell the other People, that we did the Job?

Once you defeat the Sparkmaster I believe you need to talk to Captain Aureus at the Barracks, he should have some dialogue for you regarding it. I'm not sure if it's critical that you need to have taken the Fabulous Five quest or not.

I tried. Cant tell Aureus anything about having destroyed the SparkMaster either.

Thats the problem.

I can mention, for example, the NPCs that were there, when talking to that Fabulous Five guy in front of the Inn, and he gives some kind of short excuse - but that also doesnt do anything.
The quest remains unsolved.

- Probably due to the fact i didnt stop it killing the NPCs .... maybe?

Will try to play around with this "fail state" and see if anything moves it forward.

You get the universal controller from Arhu (either stealing or after triggering a special convo ;D)

And if you talk to vendors about the X5000 they tell you what has happened in that cave that is not the same as you think what happened, of course :P

Oh YEAH!
Have fun

If all NPC's are killed, the quest is indeed not updated. The first guy you talk to in the cave (forgot his name) needs to live for the quest to be updated (and the game to recognise, yes, you've slain it).

I'm going to assume they fix that though.

In my beta playthrough, even though I shut the machine down using the remote, and all NPCs (including the one by the cave entrance) survived and escaped, I still couldn't get the quest to clear from my journal after speaking with both Aureus (I didn't even have a relevant dialogue option with him) and Arhu. But I assume they're still debugging this questline.
