Hello All!

My girlfriend and I have been playing this game none-stop and we are really enjoy our time with the game! We recently killed Evelyn but our quest did not updated... I believe we looted everything in her Lair but we didn't find anything that triggers the next step. We even went back and talked to the Legion Commander and he didn't really have anything to say that would update our quest... What do we need to do in order to continue with this quest? I heard there might be something also we need to get in her lair that unlocks the forcefield in the church basement?

Thanks for the help!

Yeah, I'm stuck too. People keep saying there's a hexagonal key in her lab, but I found nothing.

There is an Amulett that unlocks the force field in the basement.

Basement of what? Can you be more specific? What is the amulet called?

This quest is heavily bugged.

Usually players should find zombie Jack in the cave with Evelyn. If he's not there you just encountered a quest-breaking bug (murder quest + councillor's wife quest). And the hexagonal amulet needed for the crypt under the church is missing in many cases as well. This is another quest-breaking bug (undead invasion quest)...

You can at least end the undead invasion quest without the amulet by teleporting through the field in the crypt under the church. But there is no way to solve the murder case quest and the councillor's wife quest as far as I know...

I think I might even know why this bug happens. I've entered the church and the crypt before I've entered Evelyn's cave. And in that case zombie Jack appears in the crypt under the church and not in Evelyn's cave where he should appear first in order to proceed with the other quests. If you want to prevent the bug don't explore the church before exploring Evelyn's cave (or maybe I'm wrong, it's just my speculation).

I also had this quest bug out. When I first confronted Evelyn, I used firefly and lit up the room including zombie Jake. For some reason he took damage in real time despite being in turn based mode, and eventually died.

This meant I couldn't speak with him to find out about who killed him and it didn't progress the quest.

I reloaded and avoided killing Jake by accident, and it all went fine from there.

Yes, I met this issue with Jake too. However I didn't try it in this version, but it was quite long and difficult to win that battle, I think it would have been impossible without firefly and Jake lies in the way.. ;-)

We are proud to report that we finished our DOS2 localization project (Hungarian). :'-)

That's not the same bug and can be solved by just reloading before the battle (maybe resurrecting Jake would work as well in case he died?). In the bug mentioned here there is no Jake at all in Evelyn's cave (and no amulet)... wink

I know its not the exact same bug, I was just mentioning that the quest itself seems kind of bug prone.

Thanks!

Turns out I had a save right before I entered the church and so we managed to backtrack and unbug the quest! We are now fighting beyond the forcefield at the bottom of the church, is this supposed to be the end? Or only the beginning? It still feels like only the beginning of the game but we sunk almost 20 hours into it! That's pretty spectacular, I hope there are plenty more quests to do and places to see...

It's the end of the beta but only the end of the first of four areas in the final game. So there is much more to come! smile

And it's nice to know that entering Evelyn's cave before enteriny the crypt in fact solves the problem. That should give Larian quite enough information to actually fix this bug with zombie Jake... wink

Seems I'm done them. I had explored the church before the lair and didn't found Jake there too.

Have some quests still in my journal that I simple can't complete. One of it are the "find a job" quest for the 3 merchants in arbor, I haven't joined the FF and can't find work for them anywhere.

If they make any new great build before the launch maybe I try to do another playthrough.

I think the guy who has work for the three guys is located somewhere around the graveyard in town IIRC.

If you didn't find the key aka amulet for the crypt under the church in Evelyn's cave try teleporting though the blue power field. In that case you would at least be able fo fight against the last boss of the beta. wink

No guy around the cemetery. Only a dog and a woman mourning.

And no blue power field in church too, basically I can't get through the altar where the cult leader entered. Got a key to a hut but I already have breached the door with magic and got the diary, seems it broke my progress too.

But it is no problem, the game got boring as hell. The inventory is a total mess, no-combat abilities are nearly useless, even in hard the fights are cakewalk after lvl 5-6, the NPCs AI is ridiculous, basically you can steal them blind literally under it's asses, you don't have day/night cycle and a very long list of disappointments that I hope Larian got addressed before launch.

Hm, sorry. There is at least someone who has work for the three guys...

The altar opens after you pressed four levers inside the church (little hint: paintings...)
The blue power field can be found in the crypt which is located under the church.

I'm sorry to hear that you think the game is boring. There are still a lot of issues, no question. I mean, it's still in beta and many things aren't final yet. I hope you'll like the game in its final release state. At least a bit... wink

I spoke with mayor, captain of legion, and the guy that handle the tavern, no one has work for them. But I simply gave up in this one.

Got to the boss with your tip, thank you, but the guy is disappointing. Well, I was lvl 11 and it was only 8, sometimes I forgot that this game don't have dynamic enemy leveling.

Like I said, I hope they get it all sorted before launch, this beta is much better than the alpha I played some months ago, but I think they are rushing it now, June 20 is around the corner literally.

Thanks. hehe

I was already addressed multiple times that Braccus is way too easy atm. The devs are also already aware of it so there is hope that it will be better balanced soon... wink

Glad to hear it! I'm having too much fun with the game to want it to end... My girlfriend and I killed the boss today... which was bitter sweet... because now I guess we have to wait for release...

The guy you are searching for is in the centre of the city, where there's the vendor of cheeses and roosters. He is captain .... Something it's old. He gave work for the three sailors.
