Larian Studios Forums Divinity - Original Sin Divinity Original Sin - Beta Telekenesis and it's viability.

Alright I admit it. I was one of those RPG players who loved to try and take "fluff" spells and abilities and apply them in combat and to ridiculous other ends.

I'm the guy who wanted to take mage hand and use it to drop lit fireworks on people.

So my question is this, are their any uses to telekinesis that ... do anything?

Can I take boxes out from under people? Can I drop barrels on people? Can I make crap roll down a hill? Anything?

I haven't played the game much yet so any input would be appreciated.

You'll be able to move boxes to block lines of sight for sneaking, and to throw barrels around. Barrels can contain water/oil/poison, and maybe other things too, and those can be good targets for spells.

No to take boxes out from under people, they don't stand on boxes. You can pull chairs and benches out from underneath people, except that without schedules, no one sits on those things.

Barrels can maybe be thrown at enemies to cause damage, although I'm not sure that's still possible. They can't be dropped on someone's heads, I believe. You can't make things roll downhill, this game doesn't have that kind of physics.

I accidentally killed Cecil by pulling his chair out from under him.

In the current beta I've slammed boxes into both friendlies and unfriendlies.
The friendlies complain when they take damage.

WOW...how did u do that PeteNewell? Did the whole town tried to kill ya after it...

I think the telekinesis can be used as a battering ram as well just grab a vase and slam it against the door until breaks but they might have other uses too...

Haven't managed to damage objects with telekinesis.

Was trying to talk to Cecil while still running into the building. Grabbed and moved the chair instead. He fell over and died from the damage. Old people; what can you do? No sense of humour anymore.

The maid was upstairs, and the guards outside the door didn't twitch.

Once I stopped laughing I went back to my last save, so I don't know if there would have been hostility if I'd gone looking for it.
