A small intro first smile
I really love this game, and i'm quite sure it'll become one of my top 10 rpg's of all time. Aaand... I apologize for my English.

Nothing major, just some small things I would like to see in game:

- A topic for generic NPC's for asking where are the merchants. New player might have a hard time finding them.
- Similar topic for finding companions.
- Button to unchain and stop all controllable characters.
- More than 2 possible answers in dialogue between main characters.
- Abilities that require 2 or more different skills. In example "phoenix dive" would require "way of the warrior" and "fire elementalist".
- You could also get crafting recipes from more unique items/places/dialogue than just generic crafting books.
- More potent potions with drawbacks. Like healing potion restores HP but reduces constitution for certain time period. Also potions require more ingredients and leave empty flask when used. Different size flasks.

I support all these suggestions.

I agree with some of those, but not all.

More than two possible answers in dialogue can quickly spiral out of control. Going from two to four answers quadruples the writing workload, so keep that in mind.

If you add in a bunch more skills, then sure, some skills which require both Ability X AND Ability Y would work, but right now the amount of skills per class is small enough that adding AND requirements would force you into certain builds whether you want to or not. I've made the suggestion of OR requirements, so Phoenix Dive would require EITHER WotW 3 OR Fire Elementalist 3. I don't think either of those are happening in the base game, though.

Played The Witcher a lot, have you? A healing potion which lowers your max HP does not seem like a useful idea at all. Especially not with the existence of other healing methods, some of which which provide BOOSTS to stats and not debuffs. Some different drawback would be better.

I wouldn't mind getting an empty flask after drinking a potion, though.

Wrong or not necessarily. wink

In dialogue situation a you have the choice between b and b' (and maybe some other choices as well. b and b' aren't that different, they possibly both agree but with a different "tone" like extreme and more moderate. b leads to answer c and b' leads to answer c', again both similar but with a slightly differnt tone. Because both are so similar they can be united in result d without being out of place or illogical. It's the "illusion of choice". Just by deciding how to answer you feel to have agency or impact. That's what roleplaying is all about. It's about staying true to your role and not about extremely branching dialogue or storyline...

So of course there would be an increased workload. But not double the amount, not at all. It would be even less than you might think. The most tricky part is the wrting itself... wink

I think it would work for support abilities like loremaster, crafting and blacksmithing. For spells? Hm, probably not so much...
