Meh. Watched it, usefulness is limited... because they're simply talking about starting abilities. The thing is that the starting abilities are all you have for all of about 3 fights. Then you get to town, do a bunch of exploration/questing, and can promptly buy any of the other abilities for 300-500 gold each.
Things to know when starting:
1. The "all skilled up" trait grants you two additional skill points, which is huge at the beginning.
2. The primary damage (and to-hit) stats are str, dex, and int. Str affects most melee weapons, dex affects daggers and bows, and int affects spells. Boost these first in order to hit and damage your opponents.
3. Remember that you can change a bunch of things from the "class defaults", so once you have a better idea of what you want to do with your characters, you can re-create and tweak.
What would have been a bit more useful in this video (in my opinion) would have been a review of the early skills/spells for the various paths - path of warrior, path of rogue, and magic schools, with notes on useful combos and particularly useful one-point wonders.
Note that I'm just getting started with D:OS, so my knowledge is distinctly limited compared to others.
