Keln it would be nice. But in this case it isn't working that way, was never said to work in a drop-in/out manner. and if there was a chance that discussion is long gone at this time. What I am ecstatic about is we are getting a TurnBased Coop RPG, these buggers are rare. Why? I have no clue since DnD which a lot of fantasy RPG's are rooted from was all about coop turn based player. People say "It's boring" then all table top is, even more so at least here the PC does all the rolling and math. So sure it isn't the most ideal coop ever, it's still very well enough for me. To me it is the jewel of this game, if there wasn't a total Renaissance of Turnbased games, I would have been giddy just having SP TB. But now there is a plethora of those, all good to.

In my world I'm hopeful this what I wanted from NwN's, I never cared for the coop and pause based action, way too much maintenance.

well what solution do you propose then keln?
As it was said the characters have impact on the game so loading one of your character in a friend's game is not possible because you might not have done the same choice or you might have killed some NPC and him not. Not even mentionning that D:Os does not have level scaling.
A skill reset is, IMO the best option you have so far, but it cannot reset the moral choices you've done anyway...

What if your character joined as a follower? one that doesnt have any impact, such as if he "wasnt existing" IE specters in dark souls?
That way there would be no problems regarding the choices you did.
On the other hand, the XP would be an issue... so why not, upon leaving the game with your character, transfer the xp earned by your character to a follower of your friends game that wasnt used, but keep the drops and stuff like that...
Quest items would be directly only be lootable by the 2 main characters so that the guest cant run off with important stuff.

But this would only solve half the problem... You would get to play your own character in another persons game, you would actually get stuff for yourself when going back to your own game, but you would loose the progress made... But as we say in french, "impossible n'est pas francais", so there is always a way around...

indeed, being a henchman makes you meaningless (you won't have any choice or impact on your friend's party) so IMO this is not fun at all...

you could still play with one of the main characters and still play a character you created on the way...

but the point is the same, the decision you made during your game are not taken into account...
