After battle, the Fire Elemental Summon would explode doing fire damage around it. Since it follows the summoner, it does damage to its allies. One of my main character had that fire summon and it exploded, dealing fire and burn damage to my 2 follower. Upon getting burn, their message of "friendly fire" pops up and after getting hurt from burn two more times, they leave my party.

It would be awesome for a summon to die quietly and safely if it runs out of time and dies. It only explodes/poison/etc if it is killed by any sort of damage.

Oh, it can even kill me. Nice. No way to control it too.

Yes, with no way to control the summon, it should at least stay in place after combat ends. I expect that will be addressed along with the followers' pathfinding after combat.

Yesterday I got a complete wipe of my team. Fighting the orcs before the black cove entrance, I summoned 3 fire elementals. I won the combat without a scratch but then the 3 elementals died while the team was regrouping resulting in instant death frown

They're slower than you so a workaround is to run right after a fight. I'd suggest running towards the area you've already cleared....
