Thanks for the clarification; I have no issues with having it on Steam (I had to get over that a long time ago with many other games) but just wanted to make sure I could play locally if outside access was playing up.

hmmmmmm it might be stupid but hosting the D1 patch on Larian's website (well with a registration check if you want) could be another solution... This way people who really hate steam won't have to install it...
