I joined primarily to say that I am enjoying this beta so much. I just bought it a day or so ago and haven't gotten very far into it yet (still having fun in Cyreal trying to solve a murder and discovering new quests), but this is exactly the kind of game I have been wanting for so long. And it looks like it's in the vanguard of bringing back the old-school RPG, with a couple of more such titles on the horizon by other developers.

I am so tired of the first person shooters and hack-and-slashers that are erroneously called RPGs. An RPG is much more than "Look at me, I'm a wizard! I can light things on fire with fireballs! Watch me blow stuff up! That means I'm role playing!".

Kudos to Larian for bringing us this old-school gem. It's high time for such a game. Here's to its success and to a long life. I look forward to participating in the forums as time goes on.

I have similar feelings about it aswell. As an old AD&D(1st,2nd ed) player this is nice. I also agree that the current trend of RPG's, action and pace rule the day, not story and creativity.

This was especially a surprise for me because, I came to the website to look up some infos for Divive Divinity, when I was hit with the D:OS reality...
and yes I was hiding under a rock for 200 years...

Made a Rogue/Priest combo. I fell in love again..my wife is concerned. jawdrop
