Daggers were seemingly designed with a fantasy in mind, which has no translated to the game at all. It's kind of like someone decided backstabbing was cool, which is fine, but then forgot to program an effective balance to the system. Spending action points to consistently walk behind someone, only to find you cannot backstab is lousy and desperately needs fixing.
To start with, there is no class system in game. So why is there a drawback to a weapon choice? Why are dex-based melee being penalised?
Dual wielding Daggers is the idea behind attacking twice per action, which is fine, but it needs to be changed to standard and not so flavoursome.
Firstly, daggers should be unusable with shields, to represent it's a pair of daggers each time.
Secondly, state that daggers hit twice per action on them, and change the damage listed to be an actual hit. Forget the backstab nonsense and simply have them deal real damage all the time... not some fruity restriction that screws scoundrel players over and actively ruins their fun.
Finally, if you wish to keep the backstabbing talent, I'd suggest changing it to say dagger attacks from behind have a 100% chance to critical. (and make it so you can backstab from 180 degrees behind, making it visually clear similar to how looting versus stealing is obvious).
I know it's radical to ask for changes this late, as well as expecting dex-based characters to receive fairness (Many games I play I favour dexterity-based classes and seem to be at a huge disadvantage when it comes to combat damage) but I have high hopes that Daggers can get fixed in time for the release.
