Not a bug. There are gas vents feeding that trap.
That's still a bug, IMO, and a few other people have pointed that out as well.
It makes no sense to have endless explosions, each one shaking your entire screen, making it VERY annoying after a few seconds.
It should explode once and then revert back to being only poison.
