Hi all, firstly just want to say how much I love this game and love Larian for making it, what an awesome team you are! Spent quite a lot of time with the beta and alpha but just messed around not wanting to spoil too much until release. This bug I found didn't seem to happen in previous builds just the latest one, when I reach the part in the tutorial dungeon with the poison clouds and I set them on fire causing an explosion the explosion does not extinguish it just continues to explode hence I cannot get to the loot chest that is positioned behind it. Sure this will be fixed for final release but wondered if anyone else has seen this?

Not a bug. There are gas vents feeding that trap.
You can't just burn it away. you have to block the vents with something.

Leave the immediate area and return to get rid of the explosions, if you can not block the vent with something. Though, anything non-flammable should work; you don't need to completely cover the vent.

Not a bug. There are gas vents feeding that trap. That's still a bug, IMO, and a few other people have pointed that out as well. It makes no sense to have endless explosions, each one shaking your entire screen, making it VERY annoying after a few seconds. It should explode once and then revert back to being only poison.

Have you ever set a gas jet on fire? It doesn't explode itself out. It just burns.

Personally I've never done that, no. So does it burns forever, or explodes forever? Cause there is a difference, you know.
If it showed as fire, or if they added a new "surface", it would've been fine. The endless explosions is the issue here (for me).

it is indeed correct "behaviour". so the engine does everything right. no really bug there!
BUT it has the potential to be perceived as a bug b/c it is more of an annoyance than an "oh! that's cool!"-feature.

It burns until you shut off the gas.
And since in this game engine, poison gas explodes when lit...
Or basically what 4verse said.

Rain doesn't stop endless explosions. In one of previous build gas exploded once, then there were pause few second long before next explosion. So you had time to either extinguish fire or close off gas.

I've accidentally triggered this in at least 3 different places, and it does feel like *some* kind of bug.
Nothing I've tried (rain including) stop the explosions, and the one time I tried to block the vent after the fact, I couldn't, because it blew up the barrel I used to block it. That took a bit of time and was weirdly buggy in the interim - it kept alternating between explosions and a flickering gas cloud that never fully went away, and the barrel only lasted a few seconds (at which point it was back to explosions). Maybe using rain during the bugginess would have worked, but that's hardly "correct".
Leaving the zone also has no effect, and these seemingly continue forever. It's fun when you trigger one in an underground area, and then 5 hours later go into a completely unrelated underground area that is basically suffering from permanent earthquakes because the cells are placed physically close enough to each other in the map that the sound/shaking transmits.

Used to be easy to block these things with barrel lids, which dropped form every third barrel, were basically indestructible, and sealed any kind of vent right off. (Or you could craft them into shields, at which point they'd start to degrade with use. Go figure.)
As of a few updates ago, barrels no longer seem to have lids. Can't think why.
