Note, not before combat, during. I even got to play for a whole two minutes in the combat mode before getting a CTD once.

The worst part about this is that there is no error message. The game just crashes and that's it. I looked around for logs but couldn't find any.

Did you try the suggestions in the troubleshooting sticky for crashing when entering combat? (lowering graphics settings / texture quality, and for laptops with dual graphics, making sure the game was running on the discrete chip rather than integrated)

Can you start a multiplayer skirmish and play for longer, or in the Tutorial section from the main menu, enter the Training Grounds?

Yeah, I was using medium settings anyway and don't have two graphics processors, plus that bit specifically refers to crashes when entering combat, not during.

I'll email them, probably.
