But technically hasn't KS already paid for this game as far as production goes?
Surely you jest. Even $1 million is just a drop in the bucket when it comes to games development, especially with an RPG of this magnitude. The vast majority of the funds put into this game was their own, the KS just brought in some additional funding to help make the game better.
