I loved 4e (for the options and balancing) but found combat took too long. Playing 13th Age now for our D&D fix and our group much prefers it (We also play Runequest, cthulhu, Eclipse Phase and WFRP 1E).
A surprisingly large part of RPG's is what you're used to. WFRP is still the biggest seller in Poland because it was the 1st RPG published in Polish. Many people in Poland refer to RPG nights as WFRP nights even when playing a different RPG, the same way RPG'rs in many other countries have D&D nights with different RPG's.
