Hy guys,

Only 2 days to the launch, AND I want to know if the game is going to have some kind of Pre-load? Or the beta files are going to be used for it?

As I understand it, the beta version will be patched up to the release version, so if you have it installed, you effectively have a preload - as much of one as can be managed, given that the voice acting is liable to be a big download when it comes out.

Thank You for the information. I was afraid to leave the big 3Gb patch downloading for nothing.

I'd like to expand the question.

I got the alpha/beta Steam keys from the vault as a backer. I read that these versions (as opposed to those bought through early-access) will vanish from the Steam library, and people will get new Steam keys for the full version.

Question: If I have the game installed, it will vanish from the library come 30th, will its files be 'updated' to the full version if I use the new key or will they be wiped and will have to be downloaded in full?

Larian has not explained exactly how the kickstarter alpha/beta keys will be revoked and re-activation done (if you choose to get the Steam version). Presumable the last kickstarter update will provide instructions.

There should hopefully just be a seamless update if you activate the new key. If not, you should be able to avoid re-downloading most of the game by copying or renaming the D:OS install folder before release, and pausing the download after release, moving the files to the new install folder and verifying local files.

For anyone who, for some reason or the other, checks here before the Larian Vault - the answer to my question:

If you have an alpha or beta Steam game, your game will automatically update to the final release. You don't need to do anything.
If you have alpha or beta on Steam but you want the final release on GOG, please come back later to change your Steam key into a GOG key.

So no switching keys if you want to keep the game on Steam. Thanks Larian :]
