I backed on Kickstarter early for just the digital game, and I hated myself for forgetting to go back and upgrade my pledge to a physical copy. When they announced the collectors edition would be available, I ordered it from Larian Vault the day it was available.
I was thinking of getting my Kickstarter copy on GOG since the CE comes with two Steam keys. My physical CE hasn't arrived yet, and I read in another post that the physical CE won't ship until later this week. If that's true, it might be a while before I get it. They said in the comments of today's Kickstarter update that you can convert a Steam key to a GOG key. Does this apply to just Kickstarter keys or will it work on the Steam keys in the physical Collectors Edition? If it will work on the physical CE keys, I can go ahead and keep my Kickstarter copy on Steam and convert one of the CE keys to GOG and not have to wait for my physical copy to arrive.
Then I remembered that the collectors edition comes with the source hunter DLC, so it seems that would be the key I want to activate on Steam. Unless the source hunter DLC is just the same stuff you get from entering the Kickstarter code when creating your game profile. On my Larian Vault KS Backer page, it only lists the KS Potion and the Epic Trunks, but the description on Steam for the source hunter DLC says it includes a Golden Grail, the Epic Trunks, Design Documents, Art Pack and Soundtrack.
Then that brings up another question. If you can convert any Steam key to a GOG key, and I convert one of the Collectors Edition keys to GOG, will the GOG version include the source hunter DLC content that the Steam CE has? If it does, then I would like to redeem one CE key on Steam, one on GOG, and then revoke my Kickstarter key from my Steam account so it can be the one I give to a friend. It would also be nice if I could redeem the copies of Divine Divinity and Beyond Divinity that come with the CE on GOG too.
