In the 2nd zone, Silver(somethingorother) my game keeps crashing as I near the coordinates x:26 y84

Initially, I was crossing a bridge, the game autosaved and crashed shortly there after. After several attempts, I opted to explore another area of the map instead.

In the town, near the anvil/whetstone the game crashes as well (very near the coordinates above).

Any one else had this problem? Solutions?

*edit* others having same issues thread here: http://www.larian.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=504903#Post504903

Now crashing as I approach the temple in town as well ... after the first crash my Steam ran an update.

Was the game updated and is this somehow related?

*EDIT*
Also no access to Global Chat.

Was able to walk around on some other parts of the map, but returning to the areas mentioned above = same results.

If you purchased/downloaded game thru Steam you could try to verify integrity of game cache. To do so..

Right Click Divinity: Original Sin in your game library
Click on Properties
Go to the Local Files tab
Click Verify Integrity of Game Cache
Prepare to wait 5-10 minutes while it checks.

I've had to do this a few times especially after either a game patch or Steam updated it's software. Not sure if it'll help but worth a try until someone more technical can help out.

Tried that.

Still crashing on me AND still no Global Chat ... this is clearly an isolated issue or these forums would have blown up with complaints.

Any one else have suggestions?

I think the problem with global chat was just the number of players. I wasn't able to get on yesterday (only tried a couple times), but it is working for me now.

For the crash, please email supportdos@larian.com, with a description of the problem and the report.zip file generated by the D:OS support tool (for the PC version). The report contains your saves, though you may want to delete older saves to reduce the file size.

Thanks for the response. I am currently reinstalling and if that doesn't fix the issue I will follow the steps you outlined.

Regarding GC though, it certainly wasn't fixed for me as of 20 minutes ago, though I noticed there were already a few threads about that issue.
