Larian Studios Forums Divinity - Original Sin Divinity - Original Sin - General Beach and mines, Bug?

I am trying to walk out onto the beach towards the Lighthouse outside Cyseal.

Problem is, everytime I do I step on a mine and my whole party dies.

Funny thing is, I noticed the mines were visible before I walked out onto the beach, but once I got close, they vanished. There seems to be no way to search for them, meaning the way is totally impassable.

Is there a way to search? Is it a bug that they were once visible and have now vanished?

There is a problem wherein mines aren't being hidden as they should be until you get close. Your Perception is too low to detect them when you do get close. Raise it a point or two and you'll be fine.

Edit: No, it isn't a bug that they are disappearing.

If you are looking for the lighthouse, head north, and take the NW gate (behind the King Crab).

For the mines, boost your perception, fireball everything in front of you, throw crates or barrels along your path...
You can use potions, skills, equipment bonuses or levelling to boost perception, and there is a talent that will help with perception specifically for traps. You could also quick save/load to proceed by trial and error.
